Famliy Moments

Well for Easter Rigo and I went home and it was way to short. I was able to spent time with my family and Rigo was able to spent time with his family and then we all got together.

Here are Ava and Sofia my nieces my brother in law installed a zip line for the girls and at first they were a bit timid but after one try they were on that thing till the sun came down. They kept asking me to push them faster, just like their mom they love rides and speed, I don't so I will just hold the juice boxes.

Now at my in-laws we has a Easter egg hunt and cascarones and the only one that had flower some how landed on my head but it was all in good fun and anything for the kids

Monday

Well this past weekend we went to El Paso, I had to take a test to get certified in another subject area, hopefully this will make it easier to get a job. Rigo did some research and found great Mexican restaurants that we could eat at while we were there and they were great. We also shopped and picked up some art supplies. On Sunday we attended a party remembering Cesar Chavez. He was the original "YES WE CAN" and they asked Rigo to give a little talk and show his paintings. While we were watching the other events Rigo was thinking about how was he going to be able to relate to the subject matter. He started the talk and shared with the audience that he and his family were migrant workers for about 7 years. I was so proud that he shared that with the audience epically knowing how private a person my husband can be.

Rigo's Show breaks records

Well I has been a very busy month, with my show, Rigo's show, John coming in from NY we are now just recovering and getting back to normal. Well I have so much to say, first here is the news article about Rigo's show

http://www.roswell-record.com/main.asp?FromHome=1&TypeID=1&ArticleID=39567&SectionID=49&SubSectionID=112

It made the front page, we were on the radio and we had 170 people who came to the opening, it was the most in 5 years. Rigo started by thanking me and professed his love for me and how he could of never done this without my support and help. (I love this man so much and so proud) He gave a great talk and everyone was blown away by his paintings and he ability to make everything look so really and life like. We also traveled so much this past week, we went to the best places to eat and John really love the Cowboy Cafe, I had to skip some of those breakfast or I wouldn't be able to wear my skinny jeans. We went to Ruidoso, had some great Chinese food, handmade pizza with some real bitchy servers. Then we went to Capitan and Lincoln and where Billy the Kid used to hang out, then we went to Albuquerque and took the tram and had drinks and apps at the top of the mountain. Everything was so great and what a great success Rigo show was and the buzz is lingering. I have so man pic but you will have to check back to see them, I have to go back to work.

Pineapple upside down cake

Well we had a great week, today by request I am making Rigo and pineapple upside down cake. As for the art side, Rigo painting should be done by Wednesday and yesterday I finished my prints for the show at Tinnie's. Now I just have to print them and my photos came in and they look great, they are for the show at the Roswell Museum. So we are almost at the end of January and the time has gone by so fast so now we must really take advantage for our time left. Rigo will still be painting after his show and I will be working on my prints, silk screening and hopefully I can make some money somehow selling my work.

Rigo announcement is on the Roswell Museum website
http://www.roswellmuseum.org/exhibitions/current/current.html
They are working on the postcards and brochures so as soon as I get my hands on them I will share them with everyone.

Have a great week everyone
